Fight Over Socks at Target Leads to Fatal Stabbing
A man is in custody in connection to a fatal stabbing outside a Target in the North Side Uptown [Chicago, Illinois] neighborhood Sunday night.
The man was stabbed in the neck at 9:45 p.m. during an argument in the 4400 block of North Broadway, police said.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he later died, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not confirm the death early Sunday.
In a tweet late Sunday, Ald. James Cappleman said the fight happened over socks outside the Uptown Target, located at 4466 N. Broadway.

But that story is not related to this story

Regardless of individual state laws that may allow for open carry of certain guns, earlier this year retail giant Target announced it had adopted a “no guns allowed” policy for its stores across the nation. The move to ban guns from its retail locations made Target, with more than 1,600 stores, the third largest retailer in the U.S. to adopt a restrictive gun policy.

And this story is also not related

Target spokesman Molly Snyder told the Wire that they are “requesting that people do not carry any firearms in our stores, including concealed carry. We will continue to follow local laws, however, concealed weapons are included in our position.” However, Target has no plans to actually enforce its request. The Wire asked Snyder if Target will ask a gun-toting customer to leave and she said: “Because this is a request and not a prohibition, we do not plan to communicate with our customers at this time.” See Target announces but won’t enforce gun ban at http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/07/03/target-anno...
[We wonder if they have considered a "no knives allowed" policy, or perhaps a "no murderers allowed" policy. -Ed.]
