Secret Service denies involvement in Hunter Biden gun fiasco — despite 4473 'hot potato'
The US Secret Service has reiterated its denial of any involvement in retrieving paperwork from the gun store where Hunter Biden purchased a Colt Cobra revolver in 2018, despite recent FBI filings suggesting otherwise.
According to the filings, the gun store owner claimed that both Delaware State Police and Secret Service agents visited his business the day after the revolver went missing, inquiring about the paperwork Hunter filled out during the transaction. However, the Secret Service's chief of communications, Anthony Guglielmi, maintained the agency's 2021 stance, stating they have no records showing agents were involved in the incident since the Biden family was not under Secret Service protection at that time.
Guglielmi clarified that the claims of Secret Service involvement were made by gun shop personnel and documented in the filings, not by federal agents. Hunter Biden had previously described the gun purchase incident in detail, claiming his sister-in-law Hallie took the revolver due to concerns over his substance abuse issues and disposed of it in a grocery store trash bin.
“They said the firearm was involved in a case of some kind and they wanted to expedite the trace process and get access to the Form 4473,” the FBI document outlining Palimere’s interview states. “Both agencies asked the same questions and it appeared they were not aware of each other’s investigations.”
The alleged request by the Secret Service “did not seem right” to Palimere, who told the FBI that he contacted ATF special agent Jason Reisch for advice on how to proceed.
“Reisch advised Palimere not to turn the original Form 4473 over to anyone and to turn over a copy only if Palimere felt Palimere had to,” the FBI document states.
