<strong>Seven stabbings in 10 MINUTES as mass brawl rips through sleepy town</strong>

Police in Colchester, Essex, have been forced to enforce emergency powers to stop and search members of the public in town centre following the string of serious attacks.

One man was brutally beaten up in a car park before three others were stabbed, one being knifed FOUR times.

First, at 6.17pm yesterday, police were called to reports of four men attacking another man in a car park off St Botolph’s Street in the historic town.

A trail of blood was reportedly seen along St John's Street after the incident.

Five minutes later an 18-year-old man from London was found at St Johns Green with suspected stab wounds to his shoulder.

At 6.27pm a 21-year-old man from Barking was found on North Hill with stab wound to his leg and four minutes after that a 17-year-old man from London was found at Balkerne Gardens with four suspected stab wounds to his arm.

All three men found with stab wounds were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and violent disorder.

Rob Herbert, manager of The Marquis said it was totally "out of the blue" for such violent crimes to occur in the area.

He said: "We didn't hear anything about it until this morning, it was down outside The Noodle Bar.

"It is the talking point of the town at the moment, it isn't really something that happens in the area."
