Man expecting UPS package of ammo reviews security camera

When a Houston man arrived home earlier this month to find a package he’d been expecting smashed open, and its contents strewn all about his front yard, he checked his home security camera footage.

What homeowner Ben Lucas discovered shocked him beyond belief.

Much of the merchandise, which included .22-caliber ammunition, a gun cleaning kit and chemicals, was damaged, and a review of the tape showed a UPS driver heaving the package over the homeowner’s fence after encountering difficulty opening the front gate. Then the driver unzipped his pants and relieved himself over the side of Lucas’ home.

“So basically I paid someone to come to my house and pee on it,” Lucas toldHpuston’s KPRC Local 2..

Lucas was shocked once again when he drove to the local UPS office to try to redress the situation — they didn’t care.

“I just wanted them to hear me and maybe give me an email address where I could send them the video,” Lucas said. “They simply just didn’t want to see it.”

It wasn’t until Lucas’ video received notoriety when he posted it online that the shipper moved to resolve the problem.

“UPS was dismayed by actions that violated decency and delivery care,” a company executive wrote in a statement to the customer. “The local management team did take action to terminate the individual who was a seasonal delivery helper.”
